Pancake Day…

Shrove Tuesday, Mardi Gras or my favorite Fat Tuesday all mean one thing. Pancakes. Sweet or savory. Thin or fat. Sugar or maple. Delicious any way.
Here’s a recipe for these good old breakfast pancakes, but if you feel like something more sophisticated here are some buckwheat blinis to be served with smoked salmon and washed down with ice cold vodka.
If you like your pancakes skinny (like crepes), check out this great article in the Guardian on how to make them. Add some cheese and mushrooms and, voilĂ , dinner.

These look delicious!
So wish I was home this morning to observe the pancake holiday! It’ll have to wait till not-Shrove Saturday:(
Thanks Robin Jean Marie.
Hungry Sofia pancakes I worth the wait til not-Shrove Saturday.
Those blinis look really good. Might try them this weekend – will let you know if I do.
Dear blinis with smoked salmon and creme fraiche: Come here right now! I need you!
Dear Vodka: Please get into my freezer while I drink your friend Margarita with salt.
I love pancakes of any kind! Your photo of breakfast pancakes is particularly appealing and I could easily enjoy a stack of those any day. Hope you enjoyed Fat Tuesday!
