An Invitation: The Inaugural Montclair Fall Food Classic
10 October 2012 § 1 Comment
It feels good to be busy, sometimes…
…and thanks to the unbelievable generosity of the good people at Kings food markets and a wonderful seasonal menu created by some of Essex County’s finest chefs—namely Chef Robert Pantusa of Osteria Giotto and Chef Francesco Palmieri of The Orange Squirrel—I’ve been kept busy for a very good cause.
So mark your calendars: we have a lunch date on October 26!
That’s right, ladies and gentlemen, for only $15 (suggested minimum) you can join This Little Piggy for a seasonal lunch to benefit The Salvation Army’s hot meal program.
As some of you know, my good friend, Caroline and I have been cooking hot meals at the Salvation Army Citadel in Montclair every Thursday for some while. We always try to prepare something delicious, but the quality of the meal is often dependent on the food donations we have to work with. With winter just around the corner, we wanted to make sure that we can continue to provide nutritious and delicious food and we thought that a fundraiser based on a menu prepared by our finest local chefs would be a great way to replenish the food supplies that feed Montclair’s hungry every week.
So, please accept this as an invitation: come join us on Friday October 26th as part of the nationwide Food Day celebration and help us keep the Salvation Army hot meal program going in Montclair well into the winter.
We’d love to see you there, if not every Thursday in your apron!
Keep on keepin’ on!
HOW TO GET YOUR TICKET:
Contact Michele Kroeze at The Salvation Army tel 973 744 3312 ext.4651 or email michele.kroeze@use.salvationarmy.org Tickets $15 suggested minimum and going like hotcakes as we only have 100.
For those of you who can’t come feel free to donate anyway.
