The First Montclair Fall Food Classic – Some Thank-Yous
28 October 2012 § 3 Comments
Thanks to the efforts of our community, our inaugural Fall Food Classic—a fundraiser for The Salvation Army Feeding Programs—was an enormous success.
Kings Food Markets were incredibly generous providing all of the produce for our menu and the food itself was a collaborative effort from two of New Jersey’s finest restaurants: Osteria Giotto (Montclair) and The Orange Squirrel (Bloomfield). A big shout of thanks must go to the aptly-named Cheryl Good from Kings and of course to chefs Robert Pantusa and Francesco Palmieri.
Big thank-yous to the impressive roll call of businesses who provided generous donations, to John Ehlis, the renowned Montclair-based jazz guitarist, who provided us with live music, to Holly Korus – lifestyle editor of Baristanet for her fabulous floral creation and to the friends and my Aunt who provided us with help chopping!
The businesses who contributed were:
- Le Salbuen
- d*fit
- Williams-Sonoma
- Tassot Apiaries
- Real Body Boot Camp
- Appetites for Life
- IMX Pilates
- Baristanet
And last but not least, Caroline and I have to thank the volunteers and staff at The Salvation Army who provided much needed help with the logistics, served food and dived into the inevitable clean up. As ever, they were an inspiration.
I am delighted to report that the sold-out event raised a lot of money for The Salvation Army’s Lunch Program and after a bit of a rest, we can start planning the second Fall Food Classic!
