The best tomatoes in town

I’m a sucker for good packaging.

These tomatoes are so sweet, you’d think there was added sugar. The can is packed with juicy tomatoes, no watery tomato-flavored liquid in there. Just tomatoes with a tiny bit of salt: vine-ripened and freshly picked from a cooperative of 6 farmers in southern New Jersey. I love them and they are a staple in my kitchen. These tomatoes are the best in the business.

I have been in denial about BPA ( Bisphenol A) a chemical found in the lining of cans that reacts with the acidity in the tomatoes. I have loved the convenience and taste of summer tomatoes throughout winter. They are such a versatile ingredient.

But recently I have been bombarded with articles on the dangers of BPA, so will be moving over to glass jars.

What about you? Canning cans or keeping them?
